Being Scientists in our school environment.

Being scientists is hard work. It is amazing what we found in our school playground. It was great to go for a forest walk behind Mr Brayden's shed.

On the weekend I went to the park and I took a ball and it got lost and we had to go to the shop and get a new one. By Tara On the weekend I went to the sandy beach with Tom, Mum, Dad and my friend and it was fun. By Will On the weekend I lost my handball and my dad took me to the shop at Kenmore and we bought a new one. By Jacob K On my birthday I got Harry Potter lego and I got swimming stuff like goggles. All of Year 2H entered the 'Harmony Day' colouring competition and the judges selected Dylan's poster. He was awarded a Junior Artist Award. Congratulations Dylan, well done.

I think Nick's butterfly is called a 'Wanderer Butterfly' like this one.

Harmony Day, March 21st, 2011

Today we celebrated 'Harmony Day'. We made little paper dolls with their hands joined. We thought Harmony Day was about: uniting, joining together, being friendly, being peaceful and spreading love. Mr Horton challenged us to include everyone in our games because everyone belongs.

St Patrick's Day

Today we were allowed to were something green for St Patrick's Day. Patrick brought love and kindness to a troubled country. He used the shamrock to teach others about God.

Maths in Year 2.

Mrs Hitzke says, "What's this number?"

"How many tens and how many ones?"

"Now write the number name for me!" "Don't forget the hyphen!"

"Add 1 ten, now add 2 tens, what's my new number?"

She really makes me work hard!

PS ...... Angus told us today that he has been selected to go to Zone 4 Swimming Carnival. He will be swimming in the 8 year old age group. Go Angus!!!!!!!!!
